
15 Hours Foundational Yoga Workshop

Overview
Yoga is art and science.
In this course, we will approach the broad subject of Yoga in a scientific manner.
The main focus will be on Asanas (Yoga poses).
Dates
Starting on the 24th Jul, every Saturday & Sunday.
6 classes. Each class is 2 ½ hours.
Certificate of Completion:
Upon course completion, you will be given a certificate for completing 15 hours of course work with Riana Yoga.
Coursework
Following the Iyengar method and Riana Yoga’s emphasis on breath and movement, the course will cover:

How asanas are group. Why they grouped in that way.

Study the fundamentals of the main basic poses in the different groups of asanas

Learn to practice Yoga with:

Correct alignment
-
Weight distribution
-
Sense of direction

Breathing techniques in asanas

Working with the force of the Earth

Through repeated and continuous movement, relearn the range of mobility allowed in the human body, which we might have forgotten due to our sedentary lives

Through breath and movement, attain better muscles control and joint mobility

Develop your stamina and strengthen overall health

Build awareness and consciousness of your own body

Learn basic body anatomy that is related to Yoga

Be introduced to Pranayama, the art of breathing

Q&A sessions about the Asanas & your own body

This program is open to anyone who is passionate and sincerely interested in Learning Yoga.
